I needed some “safe” ornaments for my tree this year. (I have two pet ferrets and three cats.) So, I gathered up some old greeting cards, mail envelopes, and wrapping paper scraps. I also used toilet paper tube rolls for this project to add strength. I was very happy with the results. My goal was to make them as simply as possible. I just don’t have all of the time in the world and wanted something cute that the animals wouldn’t eat or break. The two minute video tutorial can be found here. Thanks for visiting and have a great holiday season!
INTERESTING STORY (at least I find it interesting): So, I create a hand puppet out of a teddy bear – viewer request. I put like 5 hours into the filming and editing process (maybe more). I even got a headache for some reason (pulled a back muscle getting in and out of that dress – LOL – had to take a nap which is highly unusual for me). Things turn out pretty cool though in the end, I’m happy with the puppet – it turned out better than I imagined. What’s the downside? YouTube’s new machinery flags my video as inappropriate for ads. What does this mean to me? It means I don’t make money and money pays for my food and electricity and teddy bear and studio. LOL, okay – it’s not really funny. That was a crazy laugh. Anyway, I ask YouTube for a human to review my video. They have a new rule. My video needs 1,000 views in the last seven days to get a human review now. 😦 Boo. Do you know the chances of that happening? Yeah, I get like 50 views on a video in a week. Plus, even if it does happen, I’ll lose out on $2 since those 1,000 views won’t be counted. Yes, that’s right people. A YouTube creator needs 1,000 views to make approximately $2. That will just pay for the teddy bear that I bought to create this video (thrift store find). It looks like a down and out day for the Classy Cheapskate! I knew I shouldn’t have cut a hole in the bottom of a teddy bear and stuck my hand up it. Now I’m paying for it. I received a sexually explicit warning. Here’s the YouTube video link if you want to help me get 1,000 views in 7 days! – Or, if you want to see how to make this most awesome HAND PUPPET that is totally ad friendly and kid friendly! This is a ridonkulous situation. Arrrrr. Oh well, at least I didn’t break out in pimples from whipped cream being all over my face – a Mrs. Doubtfire moment (you have to watch the video now! LOL)
I had fun with this project! This video tutorial was inspired by one of my YouTube viewers asking if I could make something out of popsicle sticks. Why, of course I can! In fact, I’m on a roll! And, I can’t stop! Also, I think I’ve become obsessed with bracelets.
