Don’t Throw Out That Paint!

Well, I screwed up. I was working on a gouache painting – haven’t worked with gouache since my college years. That was 16 years ago. Wait! No…that was 21 years ago. Welp, I guess I said it wrong in the video tutorial then. Anyway, since my gouache is 21 years old, many of the tubes of paint were dried up to the bone. So, I threw them out. Then, it occurred to me 2 days later that they are just like watercolors. Why would I throw them out when they can be revived. So I cut the tubes open and re-hydrated the paint. You can see how in my less than one minute long video. But, it wasn’t that easy. Since I threw the tubes away, I had to go through several garbage bags to find them. See, I throw my trash out every day since we have 5 pets that use litter boxes. I lucked out, it was just in a bag with salmonella. Yeah, that’s all – the tubes were only laying in a an old chicken breast tray. So, I had to boil the tubes and let them sit in hot water for an hour. Then I repeated the process because I didn’t even want to think about what I was touching. I wanted the germs annihilated. Well, I’m still alive and healthy and have some more paint to keep the creative juices flowing. Talk to you all later!!! Sorry for being disgusting today. I won’t play with garbage anymore (so I say).
